Midday sun dries water on the paint before it can be wiped off, and that leaves water spots. Mornings work but the good window is short. Afternoons are cooler and the paint stays workable.
Depends on the vehicle and how dirty it is. An exterior-only can be around an hour. A complete detail is a longer job — you’ll get a realistic window with your quote.

Complete Detail starts at $200. Interior Clean and Exterior Clean each start at $120. On the monthly plan the Complete Detail starts at $150 a visit.
